has 4 children. He grew up in Tranquility, CA (15 miles west of Kerman). He graduated from Tranquility High School and went
to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he majored in Ag Business and graduated in 1997. He returned to the family farm where he
farmed row crops and learned fluent spanish. Five years ago he established his own business, J. Yribarren Farms. Over the
years, he has grown such crops as cotton, tomatoes, sugarbeets, barley, wheat, seed alfalfa, safflower, sunflowers, garbonzo
beans, and corn. Two years ago he ventured into permanent crops with grapes and now is excited to share his latest crop, pumpkins.
Jeff's love for pumpkins began in 4-H. Jeff is a young farmer who enjoys learning and applying the latest technologies such
as GPS satelite guidance, drip irrigation, and fertigation. Jeff says, "Hopefully this patch gives the kids an awareness
of how their food is grown and where it comes from. Also, I hope they have fun learning about agriculture."
